I originally come from Greece, traveled around the world for a while to find ‘what I was looking for’, and then I fell in love with Australia. Professionally, I began from a scientific/medical background- I studied and practiced biochemical engineering in London for 6 years before moving to Melbourne, where I got my Masters in environmental engineering. I’ve worked as a project engineer, manager and was in commerce for several years until I changed my life story and found ‘what I was looking for’- the Body-Mind-Spirit Engineering, aka Yoga!
Yoga was always part of my life, having experienced many styles like ‘gym’, Vinyasa, Bikram, Kundalini and Tantra Yoga, as well as other spiritual genres, sports and workout styles- but Yoga felt like more than a workout to me. So when I decided to delve into it and learn it from alpha to omega, I was lucky to come across my mentor Samir Rane, who comes from an Indian lineage of Yoga Gurus along the generations. Under his guidance I completed my Yoga teacher training in Yoga & Meditation School of India in Melbourne. The training I received was very authentic, with knowledge, wisdom and techniques originating straight from India. It was on the traditional styles of Ashtanga, Hatha and Karma Yoga and tackled the science of Yoga holistically, with much respect to its history and emphasis on its philosophical pillars, the Sutras- the backbone of every Yoga practice.
Furthermore, because of my passion to understand in depth the physiology of the brain and how its state can be altered through Yoga and Meditation, I’ve attended Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback Comprehensive Training) courses that enabled me to incorporate unique knowledge of brainwave function by structuring my teaching style in such a way as to enhance students’ ability to meditate and relax further. I am also a Kids Yoga teacher, trained in the internationally recognized Rainbow kids Yoga style. I am now getting trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) which is a hybrid therapy that offers unparalleled results, combining the most beneficial principles of Hypnotherapy, NLP, Psychotherapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. RTT gives huge insight to the subconscious and how it drives our everyday behavior, and offers ways to access and heal it effectively; a tool that is immensely helpful when combined with the art and benefits of Yoga.
Overall, I view Yoga and Meditation as therapy, and use them as tools to ground, cleanse, heal, work out, as well as work in. I am looking forward to passing on the knowledge and insight I gained through my journey, and enriching the knowledge and insight you have from yours, and be your guide and conduit for ‘what you are looking for’.
